This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our finance and administrative processes reporting directly to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Assistance
-
Assist finance manager with day-to-day tasks: collate, analyse and interpret data related to the timber harvesting, produce internal financial reports using Excel format spreadsheets, assist with generating sales and purchase invoices.

Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely manner.

Assist forest managers with overseeing the supplier compliance and procurement system

Oversee the stock control process and assist the finance manager to ensure that all physical stock reconciles to our system stock.
2. Administrative Support
-
Support forest managers with regard to communication with the Forestry Commission, Natural Resources Wales, Rural Payments Agency and Rural Payments Wales. To include information updates, changes in grant schemes, felling licences, and the management of client’s RPA and RPW accounts.

Provide general administrative support to the office, including handling phone calls, managing emails, and organising meetings.

Liaise with Rural Payments Wales and Rural Payments Agency processing emails and submitting grant claims.

Maintain organised and up-to-date filing systems for financial and administrative records.

Assist in the coordination of travel arrangements and accommodation for staff.

Assist with vehicle and asset management.

Assist with employee onboarding and orientation.

3. Compliance and Regulatory Administration

Manage incoming emails to the various office email accounts (office, licences, accounts) and filter to the responsible managers.

Oversee internal audit preparations including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.

Assist with preparation for annual accounting audit.

Qualifications and Skills
-
Proven experience in finance and administrative roles.

Excellent IT skills and proficiency in MS365 Office applications, notably Excel.

Experience using sage is desirable.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.
-
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

It is desirable that you hold a qualification or are committed to furthering you professional development.
